  • Yes. Our clients regularly save money by working with us. We know which experiences offer genuine value, how to avoid overpriced tourist traps, and smart strategies for lodging and transport that balance comfort with cost. Beyond savings, you gain time, reduce stress, and experience Italy more deeply than you would navigating it alone. The planning fee typically pays for itself in avoided mistakes and better choices.

  • Yes. A central part of our work is helping clients travel Italy affordably and comfortably.

    In Italy, there is often an inverse relationship between authenticity and cost, such that the more expensive something is, the more distant it is from the genuine Italy.

    If cost is a central issue for you, as a general point of reference, we can often design an itinerary for a 10-day trip for two people in the range of $1,500–$3,000 per person, inclusive of airfare, lodging, and transportation within Italy. We can also suggest ways to eat, drink, and enjoy Italy’s sites for approximately $500-$750 per person over the course of those ten days.

    Because clients handle all bookings and make day-to-day spending decisions themselves, we cannot guarantee a final total trip cost.

  • Yes. It often happens that we get part way through planning a trip when the “overwhelm” starts.

    We regularly work with clients who already have their flights or another aspect of their trip planned.

    We adjust our fees for the level of support that you need.

  • After an initial consultation and you have decided that you want to work with Italy Within Reach, we will hold a pre-planning conversation with you in which we gather detailed information about your circumstances, needs, travel style, priorities, interests, and budget.

    After we have all those details, we will develop a detailed itinerary. If based on further discussions you would like some things changed, an initial round of revisions is included.

    Most itineraries are delivered within 1–2 weeks, depending on trip length and complexity.

    We’ll confirm timing at the start of the process and we will let you know exactly what your planning fee will be before we begin our work.

  • No, we are not a booking agency. Italy Within Reach offers advising and planning only. Clients make and manage all reservations themselves and remain fully in control of final decisions.

  • Our services are centered around planning your trip, so that you avoid overwhelm, stress, and expensive mistakes.

    We do not offer on-call or in-trip support.

  • Our fees vary based on the length of a trip, how many people are traveling, how many destinations are involved, and the complexity of working out your travel logistics.

    We understand that the majority of travelers must keep their trip costs within reason and what we charge follows that principle.

    Italy Within Reach does not earn a commission from any of the service providers it recommends to clients.

  • The initial consultation is free of charge and carries no obligation. If you decide to hire us, we will provide a firm price, accept payment, and schedule a pre-planning discussion in which we gather all the details about your travel circumstances and needs and share our initial ideas for your trip.

    If you decide not to proceed after the pre-planning discussion and before itinerary work has started, we will refund 50% of the fee paid. All fees are non-refundable once work has begun on your itinerary.
